One of the main methods we teach is called permaculture, which means working with nature instead of against it. We also use a technique called mound farming, where we create raised beds to help plants grow better. Mound farming improves soil quality and helps plants get enough water and sunlight. It allows us to grow different kinds and an abundance of produce within the same mound.
At Emerson Farms, we have a Zero Waste initiative, which means we strive to use every vegetable, green, and plant we grow without wasting anything. This helps us take care of the earth and make the most of what we grow.

How We Help the Community
At Emerson Farms, we believe that fresh food and education can make our community stronger. We partner with local organizations to provide fresh vegetables, greens, and herbs to people in need. By sharing our harvest, we help make sure everyone has access to healthy and tasty food.
But we don’t stop there! We also teach the organizations how to prepare and use this produce, so people can make nutritious and delicious meals for their families. Plus, we show these organizations how to use our farming techniques, like permaculture and mound farming, so they can grow their own food and become self-sufficient.
Additionally, we offer educational programs for the whole community, teaching everyone how to grow plenty of produce. By sharing our skills and knowledge, we hope to inspire people to take control of their food sources and create a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone.
